Crumb Pear Pie

Baked pears pie are a comfort on a chilly night.

Ingredients

  • 1 baked pastry shell (9 inches)
  • 1/2 cup gingersnap crumbs (9 cookies)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 5 cups thinly sliced peeled pears (about 5 medium)

Instruction

  • In a bowl, combine the gingersnap crumbs, sugars, flour, salt and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Place half the pear slices in crust. Top with half of the crumb mixture. Repeat for second layer.
  • Bake at 350F for 55-60 minutes. At the last 30 minutes cover edges with foil to prevent burned crust.
